Thanks for your recommendations! Most were already on our list, so depending on weather, fires, and other outside considerations, we’ll visit as many of these places as we can 🙂

Lived in Yukon for 35 years. Made the trip up and down the Stewart-Cassiar many times and I could have described exactly the same trip almost word for word! Even have same set-up with our go, clam etc except no gozebo. Probably camped at all the same places.

FYI Hyder doesn’t get any busier unless you count bears in the fall.

Sounds like you will love Yukon. Great territorial campsites everywhere. No hook-ups or flush toilets but beautiful locations.

If you go through Haines Junction Kluane National park is stunning though the Kathleen Lake campground can be buggy this time of year. Haines Alaska is great as well. Skagway is worth a visit although it is definitely a tourist town focused on entertaining cruise ship passengers. Carcross Yukon is worth a day trip as well.

If you go back on the Alaska Highway be sure to spend some time at the Liard Hot Springs and Muncho Lake. You won’t regret it.

Anyway enjoy the rest of your trip. There are few places on earth more spectacular then where you are headed.
