We pulled out the checklists and started working through them. \u00a0Jim greased the GO wheel bearings and lift cable, oiled the stabilizer jacks and checked all tires. I emptied our bins and repacked them. \u00a0We use one for the action gear (bike helmets, pumps, saddle bag, kayak paddles, seats, PFDs, dry bags, trekking pole, etc.) and one for camping-kitchen gear. \u00a0We Nikwax\u2019d our extra tent (for when my sister and brother-in-law join us in Banff) and our CLAM dining tent (can\u2019t wait to try out the new GOzeebo when it is in production).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After picking up my bicycle from the shop, we needed a break, so we took a spin along the Milwaukee River.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17082&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Packing for Glacier and Banff requires some of everything \u2013 layers for the unpredictable weather, appropriate footwear and our brand new canisters of bear spray!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally gathered up the gear&#8230;<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17083&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8230;and packed it all in the GO.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17084&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17085&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Loaded the rest of the gear in the back of the CRV and lastly the bikes &#8211; LOVE these Thule racks, so much easier now compared to our last trip.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17086&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>With Thule bike racks on top of our GO.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17089&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Our last trip&#8230;bike strapped to sides.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Took some time to smell the roses (we\u2019ll miss most of the blooms, but at least got to see a few) and bid farewell to our vegetable garden (our good friends Amy and Som will provide the plants with water and conversation while we are gone).<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17092&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17094&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And then we hit the road&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We timed the drive so that we could stop at Amish Ovens Restaurant that we discovered on our way back from Yellowstone last September, which is part of the Amish Market Square in St Charles, MN. \u00a0Be sure the leave room for dessert!!<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17095&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our first stop was with friends in Sioux Falls, SD for the weekend, re-acquainting with 3 \u00a0year old Wil and meeting his new brother Owen!<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17096&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After a loving weekend with great friends and wonderful meals (Wil asking us to say what we are thankful for ), we continued westward.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We drove through Badlands National Park \u2013 always awe inspiring! \u00a0We saw lots of wildlife \u2013 big horn sheep, bison, and hopeful coyotes among the groundhog mounds.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17098&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Monday morning, we stopped by an authorized GO dealer: Jacks Campers in Piedmont, SD. \u00a0Delivered donuts and chatted with Dina about the GO. They\u2019ve sold a few \u2013 it gets a lot of interest. \u00a0She thinks it is great and loves the versatility \u2013 lots of people in this neck of the woods want to camp, but also want to haul toys and work with the utility trailer aspect. She sends her regards to Earl, as does Mark, who met Earl at \u201cThe Rally\u201d (Harley Rally in Sturgeon). We also got to met the student summer crew: Ariana, Mazie, and Ricky.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;17099&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After our stop in South Dakota, we continued on our way, heading towards Billings, MT, but decided to take a detour to Devil\u2019s Tower National Monument. \u00a0The only close encounters we experienced were with ground hogs, but it is a magnificent structure \u2013 worth hiking around, if you have the time.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Full image gallery.
