[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Jim and Robin are heading to Alaska! The Honda CR-V is packed and their trusty GO, L.E.O. (Low-Earth Orbiter), is ready for adventure. Follow along and get a taste of #myGOlife\u2026Berzowski-style!<\/em>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As we left Glacier National Park, our trip odometer went from 9,999 to zero!\u00a0 We were excitedly watching to see it turn to 10,000 miles, so it took us by surprise <\/span>?<\/span> Regardless, we\u2019ve covered a lot of ground!<\/span><\/p>\n

We realized as we traveled back into more populated areas, that we could no longer count on arriving at a campground in the afternoon and obtaining a campsite.\u00a0 Therefore, we decided to drive to West Yellowstone and stay in a hotel for the night (with the extra benefit of having showers!!) Jim decided to try on a many gallon hat to see what it might feel like to ride on the range.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”26252″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The drive to Grand Teton National Park brought us through the southwest corner of Yellowstone National Park.\u00a0 We began to see the evidence of geothermal activity.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26254″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26253″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]At the entrance to Colter Bay Campground, we saw a sign asking campers not to feed the foxes.\u00a0 Then we watched a fox carrying a plastic shopping bag, presumably filled with trash, cross the road.\u00a0 Seems like you don\u2019t need to feed them, as they get their own!<\/span><\/p>\n

Anyway, our plan worked, and when we arrived early at Colter Bay Campground, we obtained a nice large site, with a level \u2018driveway\u2019 for the GO and plenty of room to also set up our GOzeebo<\/a>, for my California brother who was joining us there.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26255″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26256″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]After setting up camp, we took a drive to see the Tetons \u2013 they sure are grand!!<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”26257″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On our first full day in the park, we decided to hike around Jenny Lake.\u00a0 It was a beautiful day and the sights were phenomenal.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26259″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26258″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26260″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26262″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26261″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26263″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\u00a0After the exhilarating hike, we drove along the range and decided to go up to the top of Signal Mountain.\u00a0 On the way, we saw a stately elk along with a buck in velvet.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26264″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26265″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]And from the top, we got a different perspective of the Tetons and incredible views of the valleys.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26266″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26267″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Waiting for dinner, brother Steve serenaded us with his haunting harmonica hymns (ok, they weren\u2019t hymns, but I really like alliteration!)<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”26268″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The following day, we drove a bit further south.\u00a0 The mountains were unbelievably stunning.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26270″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26269″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]And our hike to Taggart Lake was awesome.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26273″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26272″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26271″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26274″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Back at camp, Steve perfected the art of the nap, while Jim grilled fantastic fajitas <\/span>?<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26276″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26275″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Sightseeing was on the agenda for the following day. Even though we got an early start trying to avoid the late season crowds at Yellowstone, there was still a backup at the part entrance.\u00a0 But it was worth it!<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26277″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26281″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26280″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26279″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26278″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26282″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On our last full day at Grand Teton National Park, we hiked along the Jackson Lake from our campground.\u00a0 We continued to have beautiful weather.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26283″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26284″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Not to be outdone by Steve, Jim showed that he could nap in the hammock also\u2026so Steve found a bench!<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26285″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26286″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Having reached the lower latitudes and expecting to actually experience darkness at night, we decided to enjoy campfires on our last camping nights of this epic journey!<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26288″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26287″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]And with that, after just over 9 weeks, we packed up camp for the last time. In less than a week, we would be home! We spent a night in Cody, Wyoming.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”26289″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]And drove through Badlands National Park.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26291″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26290″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]And then we were in Sioux Falls, SD, visiting our good friends, Chad and Amanda, and their boys, Wil and Owen.\u00a0 Wil showed me how to create a fighter jet and Owen showed Jim something, not sure what!<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26293″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26292″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We went to the airshow and watched the Thunderbirds <\/span>?<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26295″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26294″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The boys became jets and flew around the yard!<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26297″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”26296″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]And then\u2026we were on our way home, the final 500 miles.<\/span><\/p>\n

We pulled into the driveway after 10 weeks on the road and 12,325 miles.<\/span><\/p>\n
