Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp will renew their rivalry when Manchester City and Liverpool meet at Wembley later today. The two sides will meet for the second time in the space of a week when they contest the FA Cup semi-final. The two sides met in the Premier League last weekend, playing out to an entertaining draw.

They were both then in action in the UEFA Europa League, securing spots in the semi-finals of the competition.

Previous encounters:

The title rivals have only met 7 times in the FA Cup before, with honours pretty even between the two. Liverpool have won three games while Manchester City have won two and there have been two draws.

What does it mean to the managers?

For Jurgen Klopp, reaching the semi-final is a huge milestone. The Reds have never made it to the final four of the tournament with the German in charge and will be looking to go all the way this year, Sky Sports reported. Guardiola has reached the semi-final stage with City five times, but they’ve only won the title once under his leadership. Both teams will be looking to change this for their managers, leading to a more thrilling encounter.

Injury news:

Kevin de Bruyne and Kyle Walker are doubts for the game against Liverpool having picked up injuries during the clash against Atletico Madrid midweek. Both players were unable to attend training as well, IOL reported. For Liverpool, only Diogo Jota remains a doubt for the big game.

Possible team lists:

Manchester City

Ederson, Joao Cancelo, John Stones, Ruben Dias, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Ilkay Gundogan, Rodri, Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling, Jack Grealish.

Liverpool

Alisson, Trent Alexander Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Fabinho, Thiago, Jordan Henderson, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane.

Man City vs Liverpool:

Premier League table-toppers settle for a 2:2 draw in a thrilling cracker at Etihad Manchester City and Liverpool’s Premier League encounter ended in a 2-2 draw on Sunday, April 10, at the Etihad Stadium as both teams shared the spoils after 90 minutes of action, Sports Brief reported. The thrilling top of table cracker lived up to its billing as both sides battled to end the weekend topping the standings. Only a single point separated the two English heavyweights, with the Sunday clash touted as a potential Premier League decider.

Man City had a terrific start to the clash as they took the lead inside six minutes of action through Kevin de Bruyne who lashed a left-footer that flicked off Matip and zoomed into the far side-netting.
