Both and Tottenham Hotspur have goalkeeper Jan Oblak on their summer list, with the stopper’s asking price lower than it has been in the past.
The 29-year-old has been at Atleti since 2014 and has amassed over 350 appearances for the club, winning the La Liga title last year and reaching the final in 2016.
The Slovenia international has become one of the most respected goalkeepers in world football and has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Chelsea also showing interest in him in recent seasons.
A move never materialised, partly due to his £107m release clause, but the report that Atletico are now willing to accepting ‘significantly’ less than that for their goalkeeper.
He remains under long-term contract, with his current deal running until 2028, but he is one of the highest-paid players in La Liga and it is thought Atletico would let him go if an appropriate offer comes in.
Tottenham and Manchester United are the teams most likely to try and tempt him to the Premier League, with Spurs planning for life after Hugo Lloris and doubts over David De Gea’s future at Old Trafford.
Lloris turns 36 before the end of this year and, while he remains first choice under Antonio Conte, the veteran Frenchman cannot go on forever.
De Gea is also still first choice ‘keeper at his club, but his contract expires at the end of the season, with Manchester United holding an option to extend it by a year.
They will likely do that as they would not want to let the Spaniard leave on a free transfer, but Oblak could still prove to be the replacement for De Gea at Old Trafford.
The report from the Evening Standard states that Tottenham have already made contact over a possible move, while United have asked to be kept informed of his availability.
