PSV manager Ruud van Nistelrooy wants to take winger Anthony Elanga on loan this month, although Erik ten Hag may take some convincing to let him go.
Elanga was used regularly in the first team under last season, making 21 Premier League appearances, but he has fallen down the pecking order since Ten Hag took over.
The 20-year-old has made 13 top flight appearances, but just five in the starting XI and he is behind the likes of , Anthony, and now a returning Jadon Sancho in the pecking order.
report that Elanga is becoming frustrated with the reduction in first team opportunities and is open to going out on loan.
Both Everton and Borussia Dortmund have also shown an interest in the forward, but their interest appears to have cooled and Red Devils hero Van Nistelrooy is keen to pounce and bring him to Holland.
Elanga would hope to be involved in upcoming games in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, at home to Reading in the former on Saturday night, before meeting Nottingham Forest in the second leg of the League Cup semi-final at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
The Sweden international came off the bench in the 3-0 win over Forest in the first leg and has played in three other Carabao Cup games on the run to the semis.
Speaking earlier this month Elanga said he was hoping to show what he can do over the second half of the season.
‘There’s a lot to come,’ he said. ‘I feel like the second half of the season will be an important one for me and I’m looking forward to showing what I am capable of doing.
‘The coaching staff are helping me day in, day out, and I feel they will play a huge part in what I will become in the second half of the season.’
