Arsenal could be without Gabriel Martinelli for their group stage clash against PSV Eindhoven after the Brazilian was absent from first-team training today.
The Brazilian has been in fine form for the Gunners this term and he’s formed a formidable front three alongside Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka.
Arsenal are looking to maintain their 100% start to their European campaign but the Dutch giants are just two points behind them.
However, the Gunners could be without their Brazilian winger after he was absent from an open training session at Colney today, with the Brazilian said to be ‘under the weather’.
There was also no sign of Oleksandr Zinchenko, as the Ukranian struggles with a persistent calf problem.
Mikel Arteta is set to speak to the media at 4pm, when he’ll likely give an update on the duo.
In any case, Arteta could look to rest Martinelli given his side are in the middle of a gruelling run of fixtures.
The Gunners have won nine of their first ten Premier League matches this term, making their best ever start to a league campaign.
Martinelli, 21, has been an important part of that and the Brazilian’s already netted four times in 13 appearances.
A win would take Arsenal a long way to qualification for the next round, though they’ll want to finish as group winners in order to avoid an extra two fixtures.
