Former midfielder has revealed that he has been targeted by an organised gang and that he is a victim of extortion attempts.
Pogba left Old Trafford for the second time this summer to join and the France winner issued a statement through his lawyers on Sunday to confirm that they had reported the incident to the various authorities.
AFP, a French news agency, have said that police in France have opened an investigation.
Earlier, Mathias Pogba posted a bizarre online video, in which he claimed to know information about his brother Paul that the world ‘deserves to know’.
Mathias said the information could impact if he ‘deserves his place in the French team’, ‘deserves to be a starter at Juventus’ and if is a ‘trustworthy person’.
But the statement posted by Paul Pogba’s lawyers claimed the video was ‘in addition to threats and extortion attempts by an organised gang’ and that it was ‘unfortunately no surprise’.
The statement added: ‘The competent bodies in Italy and France were informed a month ago and there will be no further comments in relation to the ongoing investigation.’
Mathias Pogba, 32, played for teams including Wrexham, Crawley Town and
Crewe Alexandra.
In a video posted on social media, he said: ‘The French, English, Italian and Spanish public, in other words the whole world, as well as my brother’s fans, and even more so the French team and Juventus, my brother’s team-mates and his sponsors deserve to know certain things.
‘In order to make an informed decision if he deserves the admiration, respect and love of the public.
‘If he deserves his place in the French team and the honour of playing in the World Cup. If he deserves to be a starter at Juventus.
‘If he is a trustworthy person, that any player deserves to have at his side.’
He then targeted Paul Pogba’s new agent and lawyer – Rafaela Pimenta – who took over from the late Mino Raiola, who passed away in April.
Mathias Pogba said that he would let players and supporters know about ‘her integrity, her professionalism… her loyalty’ so that they could determine whether she ‘deserves to represent them’.
He finished the video by talking about Kylian Mbappe and said he had ‘important things’ to say about the France international striker.
‘I will tell you very important things about him and there will be elements and many testimonies to confirm my words,’ he added.
‘Everything could be explosive and make a lot of noise.’
