missed Premier League clash with Brentford after suffering an injury in training.
The Gunners travelled to Brentford on Sunday afternoon and Mikel Arteta made three changes from Arsenal’s previous Premier League game, a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Odegaard, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Albert Sambi Lokonga made way for Fabio Vieira, Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey.
Arsenal confirmed both Odegaard and Zinchenko missed out due to calf problems, with Odegaard believed to have sustained the issue in training last weekend.
Vieira earned his first Premier League start since his £34m move from Porto over the summer, having came off the bench against United.
Schoolboy Ethan Nwaneri was also on the Arsenal bench after Arteta included the 15-year-old in his squad for the trip across London.
The Gunners can climb back to the top of the Premier League with a win at Brentford, having seen Manchester City and Tottenham move ahead of them yesterday.
Arsenal have won five of their first six league games this season and saw their 100% start ended by Manchester United earlier in the month.
Brentford thrashed Leeds United 5-2 last time out and made two changes for the visit of Arsenal, with Norway international Kristoffer Ajer making his first appearance of the season and Josh Da Silva returning to the side.
Former Premier League star Chris Sutton expects Arsenal to drop points at Brentford, telling BBC Sport: ‘Brentford got off to a great start last season by beating Arsenal at home in their first game after being promoted, and there will be a cracking atmosphere there this time too.
‘The Gunners have improved a lot from 12 months ago, but the Bees have shown recently against Manchester United and Leeds that they carry a real threat.
‘So, this will be a tough test for Arsenal – and I just have a sneaky feeling that Brentford will get something out of the game.’
A minute’s silence will be held before kick-off at the Gtech Community Stadium, while both sets of players will wear black armbands in tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
