Team news

Madrid will be without Ferland Mendy, who remains sidelined with a calf injury, whilst defensive colleague Eder Militao is suspended.

Militao’s absence could see David Alaba play alongside Antonio Rudiger at centre back with Eduardo Camavinga slotting in at left back.

Nathan Ake is a doubt for Manchester City having been withdrawn from the Premier League win against Leeds at the weekend with an apparent calf injury.

The Dutchman had only just returned from a two-and-a-half week layoff with the hamstring injury sustained in the quarter-final second leg against Bayern Munich.

If Ake is indeed unable to take his place in the team, Guardiola could move Manuel Akanji over to the left side of defencex, whilst the left-footed Aymeric Laporte is another option.

Kyle Walker, who replaced the stricken Ake against the Yorkshire club, could be deployed at fullback to deal with the explosive threat posed by the brilliant Vinicius Jr.

John Stones, Rodri, Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva were all rested from the off against Leeds and Guardiola could elect to return them to his starting XI.

Real Madrid predicted lineup: Courtois; Carvajal, Rudiger, Alaba, Camavinga; Valverde, Kroos, Modric; Rodrygo, Benzema, Vinicius Jr

Manchester City predicted lineup: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Akanji; Stones, Rodri; Bernardo, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Grealish; Haaland
